Oatmeal is so easy and inexpensive. It is a comfort food, as well as a galactagogue. There is little research done on the effectiveness of oatmeal as a galactagogue, but ask any nursing or pumping mom. Most all will attest to how helpful oatmeal is to breastmilk production.
I ate oatmeal almost every day for breakfast or snack. Since I love oatmeal, I always kept it around. I had very few problems with my breastmilk supply but when I did, I made sure to eat some oatmeal.
